About This

• Burdock also called Great Burdock is grown as a bienniel in USDA Zones 2 - 10. This herb plant will reach 60 inches in height and has purple flowers in late summer.

• Burdock grows along roadsides, in open fields, at the edges of woods, and anywhere ground has been disturbed just as most thistles would. In its first year, burdock forms a cluster of large leaves, resembling rhubarb.
• Sow 2 - 3 seeds per plant in well-drained soil and keep moist until germination occurs in 30 - 90 days.
• After a year of growth, burdock puts forth a branched stalk with smaller leaves and, in the late summer, purple-pink flowers which are beautiful.
