About This
- Plant black mustard seeds directly in your herb garden in USDA zones 4 - 7 for an annual herb used for culinary spices in cooking. Brassica nigra, can grow up to 72 inches tall and produces a yellow flower.
- Black Mustard Microgreen has a spicy, tangy taste, and can be used as a universal seasoning in various dishes. Mustard sprouts contain ascorbic acid and rutin - vitamins C and P, and B1, B2, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium. Some say that it tastes like milder version of horseradish.
- These heirloom, non gmo annual herb seeds are used for spice generally made from ground seeds of the plant with the seed coats removed.
- The seeds are flavorful although they have almost no aroma. The seeds are commonly used in Indian cuisine. Black Mustard is more powerful in flavor than yellow mustard, but it is not grown commercially due to the difficulty of harvesting with equipment because of the irregularity of plant size.
- Plant 5,000 seeds for every 600 square feet of herb garden you are planting outdoors. The mustard seeds are small, hard and vary in color from dark brown to black.
